Cornerstone Bank Family Earns NC Banking Scholarship
WLSON — Robert H. Ladd IV, son of Cornerstone Bank Chief Credit Officer Robert H. Ladd III, has been awarded one of the North Carolina Bankers Scholarships. Scholarships are available to incoming college freshmen with a parent who has been employed for a minimum of two years by a member bank of the NCBA. The scholarships may be used at any accredited college or university. Ladd, a senior at Hunt High School, will attend the University of North Carolina with plans to major in biology. While at Hunt, he participated in the International Baccalaureate Program, and was on the wrestling team. He also is an Eagle Scout. His father has been a part of Cornerstone’s senior management team since 2000. The North Carolina Bankers Association has now granted over $1 million in scholarship stipends. Financial support for the NCBA Scholarship Foundation has, for 25 years, been generated through bank member and individual contributions and contributions from the Association’s wholly owned subsidiary, Community Bank Services. The state’s banks have provided support to their communities since 1804.
